Best Blinds to Block Out Light

newton blinds3

One of the primary uses for blinds is to keep out light, so when you’re looking to get some blinds, you want something that’s going to do the job. Now of course, all blinds keep light out, but there’s no denying that certain kinds are a lot better at this than others.

Blackout blinds

With blackout blinds, there’s no messing around – they are 100% opaque, giving you full and complete protection from the light. They ensure that absolutely no light passes through them, which would be ideal for a place that requires complete darkness, like a photography darkroom for example. While blackout blinds might be a little harsh for your home, they could be ideal for industrial properties that have different purposes.

Wooden blinds

Wooden blinds come in slightly varied formations, however the point is, wood is a material that is particularly good for keeping out light. Not only this, they look stylish and subtle and so would be perfect for your household. When it comes to keeping out the light, they do the job just perfectly. Wooden blinds often come in slats meaning that each part of wood is close together and stops light creeping through as much as it can. So, even if you didn’t shut them completely, they’d still do a pretty good job of preventing exposure to light.

Other solutions

Don’t think that you are just limited to these two types of blinds, there are other ways to keep out the light. For example, venetian and roman blinds are still notoriously good for the job, and are a great touch inside any home. Furthermore, you could try some of the curtains we have available, as these are generally made from a thicker material.
