In this day and age, technology has become so advanced, and this has impacted just about every aspect of our lives and the things around us. Most things now have modern and advanced alternatives, and we are always seeking ways of progressing technology to make things easier. We are not a generation that likes to do things manually, but instead we are fascinated by new and interesting ways that technology can do things for us. Automatic and motorised garage doors are a part of this, and although not massively common, they are something that is becoming more popular. Rather than manually opening and closing your garage door, you can now do this by the push of a button.

As there are a few different types of motorised garage doors, we thought we’d break things down for you, and show you how they could make your life easier.

Automatic garage doors

Automatic garage doors enable you to control the door, by opening and closing it, via an electronic device such as a remote control. Therefore, by the simple press of a button, the desired action will take place. This could benefit you for example if you keep your car inside your garage, as it means that every time you want to drive in and out, you can have the door automatically open or close, as opposed to you having to get in and out of your car to manually lift the garage door.

The most obvious and best feature of automatic garage doors, is that they are so easily accessible. Just the push of a button will do the job, and allow you to leave and enter your garage without any sort of hassle. Furthermore, this is also great for if conditions make it difficult for you to lift the garage door open. Whether this be because of some kind of physical injury or disability, or even just because of bad weather conditions!

Roller garage doors

If your garage is situated in a bit of a confined space, you may benefit from roller garage doors. Not only are these electronic, convenient and easy to control, but the way they are designed means that they don’t swing open and close like most garage doors. Sometimes when you don’t have much space outside of your garage, this can be a problem as there may not be enough room to swing open the door fully, or you may have to maneuver things around in order to do this. Roller garage doors simply open and close by pressing a button which takes them up and down.

Security shutters

If you are looking for a bit of extra security for your garage, we would definitely recommend security shutters. These motorised shutters will close over your garage door to ensure that it is completely secure and there is no possibility of anyone being able to get in. You don’t necessarily have to have an automatic garage door, as these security shutters are compatible with any sort of garage door. They provide extra safety for your property and can be completely made to measure and fitted in by specialists such as ourselves. They also have obstacle detection and PDT units in order to provide extra safety. This is particularly good for if you store valuable items in your garage, or perhaps if your garage is actually connected to your home.
